Marie Pagel

November 7, 1928 — January 4, 2018

Marie Pagel will be remembered for the love she had for her family.  She was a special mother to her thirteen children and loving wife to her husband, Vernon.  Marie took pride in sewing clothing for her children, gardening, loved being outdoors, sitting in her porch swing, cooking meals from scratch and making sure her cinnamon rolls were ready for the deer hunters in the family.  Marie especially loved her grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.

She was born November 7, 1928 in Wausau to the late Martin and Alma (Wiederhoeft) Gebhard.  On September 28, 1946 Marie married Vernon Pagel. They lived in the town of Stettin and were members of Trinity Lutheran Church.  Marie was an incredibly faithful member of Trinity. She found great comfort in the scriptures and was a member of the Ladies Afternoon Circle at her church.

At the age of 89, Marie passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Survivors include her children, Mary (Ralph) Tarras of Weston, Thomas (Gloria) of      Wausau, Karen (Charles) Dorn of Appleton, Beverly (Robert) Kordus of Wausau, Janet Vargas of Marathon, Susan (Lyle) Lawrence of Marathon, Donald of Wausau, Patricia Kimmons of Wausau, David of Wausau, Andy (Laurie) of Merrill, Cynthia (Michael) Preisig of Wausau, Pamela (Robert) Frei of Deerbrook, 29 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, one son, John, two sisters, Elaine Sherfinski and Pearl Harder and two sons-in-law, Forrest Kimmons and Juan Vargas.
