Marilyn Holewinski passed on Sunday September 24, 2017 at the age of 79 after an extended battle with cancer. She was born on July 12, 1938 in Birnamwood to Leo and Victoria (Glapinski) Holewinski.

Marilyn had retired from Chapman Department Store in Milwaukee, WI prior to relocating to Wausau. Marilyn was a member of the St. Florian’s Catholic Daughters of America and Rosary Society. She will be remembered for her love of little children, baking and decorating Christmas cookies, embroidering, and putting together puzzles.

Marilyn is survived by a sister and brother, Suzanne Raasch (Ronald) Hatley, and Al Holewinski (Sandy) Bradenton, FL. Nieces and nephews: Denise (Daniel) Kellner, Annette (Jeffrey) Schaupp, Vickie (Bradley) Varsho, Phil Holewinski (Darla Plaster), Jon Holewinski (Andrea Skubal), and six great nieces and nephews Dustin (Jacie), Dalton, Marissa, Alexis, Lauren and Julia. She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Victoria.

A Funeral Mass for Marilyn will be held on Wednesday September 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Florian’s Catholic Church in Hatley. Fr. Greg Bohren will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in St. Florian’s Church Cemetery. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
