Marion Elizabeth Hitz of Wausau died peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2016.
She was born January 26, 1933 in Wausau to the late Daniel and Marie (Falske) Robare. Marion married the love of her life Mervin Hitz on February 24, 1961 in Pine City, MN. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1991. She was known for her exquisite cursive handwriting. Friends and family looked forward to her yearly Christmas cards just to see her beautiful penmanship. Marion was a wonderful cook and was best known for her chicken noodle soup and monstrous apple pies. She had an excellent work ethic, working at Family Heritage for over twenty years, winning "Employee of the Year" several times. She enjoyed day excursions with Mertz, gaming and watching baseball and the Packers.
Marion is survived by her children, Daniel Hassel of North Dakota, Lynn Larson Hanson of Port Richey, Fl, Donald "Craig" (Cindy) Hassel of Rothschild, Todd (Patty) Hitz of Wausau, nine grandchildren, Lief Larson, Lorrelle Larson, Allison Hassel, Danielle Hitz, Todd Hitz Jr., Kristin Hamilton, Lori Beach, Lindsey Hassel, Garrett Malik and seven great grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Scott Hanson and three brothers, Walter Plautz, Karl Manthei and David Robare.
Marion was a woman who knew her own mind and lacked no courage in speaking it, which included her faith in Jesus Christ. We know with certainty she is in Heaven with those she loves and is at peace.
