Marion Kohnhorst

June 1, 1935 — April 22, 2014

Our Lord took Marion Louise Kohnhorst home to be with Him and Jerry on April 22, 2014 after 78 years with us on earth. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. Rev 14:13

She died at Mount View Care Center in Wausau, under the care of Mount View staff and Asera Care Hospice.

She was born June 1, 1935 in Wausau, the daughter of Louis and Louise (Kulow) Moser.

She married Gerald Kohnhorst on February 16, 1952 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Town of Rib Mountain. Their union lasted for almost 60 years before Gerald's passing in January 2012.

Marion raised two daughters, worked as a Tupperware consultant, Avon consultant, server at the Wausau Labor Temple for weddings, at Rib Mountain Voting poll, crossing guard for Rib Mountain Elementary School, Bethesda Thrift Store volunteer, Ed's Cleaning Service, as a clerk in the North Central Health Care Canteen and with Wausau Childcare.
Marion's passions included her Schnauzer dogs, knitting, shopping and the activities at Mount View.

She is survived by – her daughters, Cindy (Kurt) Beidle-Wausau and Lori (Jim) Hein-Neenah, WI; grandsons, Michael (Cindy) Beidle-Oshkosh, WI and Steven Hein-Neenah, WI; granddaughters, Amy (Will Brey) Hein-Appleton, WI and Kristen (Josh) Oshefsky-Neenah, WI; great-grandchildren, Kody and Alyssa Beidle and Layla Hein; sister, Lydia DeJong-New Berlin, WI; brother, Louis (Beverly) Moser-Wausau; sisters-in-law, Marcia (Gary) Brick-Black Creek, WI, Phyllis Lunt-Ottumwa, IA and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Kohnhorst; her parents, Louis and Louise (Kulow) Moser; brothers, George (Anne) Moser, Bernhardt (Audrey) Moser, Joseph (Adeline) Moser; sister, Louise (Selmer) Graefe; brothers-in-law, George DeJong, Douglas (Jean) Kohnhorst and Clifford Lunt.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Monday, April 28 at Christ Lutheran Church (1300 Townline Road). Revered David Wetmore and Reverend Rick Kelm will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the church on Monday. Entombment will be at the Garden of Eternal Rest in Restlawn Memorial Park.
