Marion Beatrice “Beattie” Kurth, 88, passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on July 27, 2017 following a brief illness.
Beattie was born April 13, 1929 in Hatley to the late Robert and Martha (Stolze) Steinke. In 1950, she married Gene Kurth, her husband of 63 years. They loved their cottage at Squirrel Lake in Minocqua and spent many wonderful days with family and friends. She loved to fish, play Yahtzee, cards, bingo and puzzles were her pastime. Beattie loved the Green Bay Packers and always had a delicious meal prepared for anyone who came to see her.
Beattie was one of ten children and is survived by a brother, Ernest Steinke of Minocqua and Delores Pyke of Wausau. She is also survived by her daughter, Diane (Doug) Neely of Sharpsburg, GA; daughters-in-law, Dawn Kurth and Kathy Kurth; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene; 7 siblings and her sons, Kenneth (July 3, 2000) and Keith (July 22, 2017).
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Saint Anne Parish, Wausau. Father Alan Burkhardt will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Thursday. Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Town of Texas.
