Marion Joyce Plautz, 87, of Wausau, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Our House Senior Living, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born in Wausau on February 24, 1931 to the late James and Adelia (Rothmeyer) Roeder. Marion attended schools and graduated in Wausau. She would later marry her classmate and neighbor, Elgart Plautz, in El Paso, TX, while he was serving in the Army.
Marion worked as a homemaker raising family and also on the farm. She enjoyed gardening and going on road trips with Elgart in the motorhome to visit family and friends around the country.
Survivors include her son, Keith (Kara) Plautz; grandchildren, Katie Olson of Kronenwetter, Kyle Plautz of Valley Springs, SD, and Karissa (Andrew) Clark of Schofield; great-grandchild, Taylor Olson; and brother, Ken (Colleen) Roeder of Mercer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elgart; parents, James and Adelia; and brother, Robert Roeder.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Town of Texas Municipal Center, T4510 River Hills Road, beginning at 12 noon until 3:00 p.m. Private family burial of Elgart and Marion will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas, at a later date.
