Mary Dabbert, 91, of Wausau, died Thursday April 29, 2010 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
Mary was born April 16, 1919 in Hague, ND. to William and Elizabeth Keller. Mary served as a Lieutenant and nurse in the United States Navy during WWII, stationed in Pearl Harbor. She met her husband Dale, a United States Marine, at the Alonzo Ward Hotel in San Francisco, Calif. on a blind date during WWII. They were married March 5, 1946 in Aberdeen, SD. Mary also worked as an R.N. for Wausau Hospital North. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and her pets.
Mary is survived by her husband Dale of Wausau, one son Dennis (Susan) Dabbert of Mosinee, one daughter Julie (Rick) Halder of Gleason, three grandchildren; Michelle (Brian) Augustine of Hatley, Brandon (Jaime Hall) Dabbert of Mosinee and Ryan (Stephanie) Dabbert of Tucson, AZ., three great grandchildren; Ashley and Alexis Augustine and Lily Dabbert, two brothers; Edward (Mary) Keller and William (Clara) Keller both of Aberdeen, SD. and one sister Monica (Joseph) Palmer of Aberdeen, SD.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one brother James.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday May 6, 2010 at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Inurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
