Mary Detert

Mary Ann (Haas) Detert of Our House, 210 W. Campus Drive, City of Wausau, went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Aspirus Hospital.

Mary Ann was born on April 5, 1930, in Merrill, Wisconsin to the late Frank Haas and Helene (Smitt) Haas. She attended grade school at St. Francis School and graduated from Our Lady of the Holy Cross in 1948.

Mary Ann married Wallace “Wally” Detert on November 10, 1951, at St. Francis Church in Merrill. They were married for 49 years.

Mary Ann will be sadly missed by her surviving family.

She is survived by her three sons, Jeffery (Shannon) Detert, Brian (Denise) Detert, Todd Detert (Cindy Johnson); two daughters, Susan Detert and JoAnn Seidel all of Wausau area. Five grandchildren, Jeremiah, Travis, Ashley, Jeb, Gabrielle, and Cody; six great-grandchildren and half-brother Don (Elaine) Haas.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Franklin, sister Helen May (Haas) Kelly, two half-brothers James and Thomas Haas and granddaughter Siarra Sue Detert.

Services have been held for Mary Ann Detert at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church of Wausau
