Mary was born August 11th 1921, in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Maria (Saulich) Barnert. She met David Pittsley while he was stationed overseas during World War II. The couple wed on July 24th 1952, in Wuenburg, Bavaria. Together they shared 60 years of marriage, enjoying their family and building a home together. They lived in Denver, CO and at Fort Leonard Wood Army Base, in Missouri before returning to the Wausau area six years ago.
On Wednesday, June 5th 2013, Mary Olga Pittsley died under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, at Lili House, Schofield. She was 91 years old.
Mary is survived by her brother-in-law, Clifford, Wausau; five nieces, Mary Ann, Peggy (Robert), Brigitte, Claudia, and Karen; two nephews, Wolfgang and Doug (Kim); and sister-in-law, Marilyn Pittsley, Milwaukee.
Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, David, on September 19th 2012; two sisters-in-law, Bettyann and Viola; and brother-in-law, Eugene.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, June 10th, at Restlawn Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum, Wausau.
