Mary Schaller

May 16, 1926 — October 12, 2010

Mary Ann Schaller will be best remembered by her ever present smile and upbeat attitude. Her usual answer when anyone asked her how she was: "Everything is just fine." She loved her family and especially loved spending time with her grandsons, Jon, Jason and Justin and going to their various sporting events. She had an active 84 years of life. Mary Ann was an avid Bridge player, playing in numerous card clubs in the area. She liked to dine out and enjoyed watching the Packers. Mary Ann was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church, a past choir member, money counter and a member of various circles including the Hilltoppers.
She was born May 16, 1926 in Wausau to the late William and Anna (Schroeder) Krause. Mary Ann graduated from Wausau Senior High School and later met her future husband, John Schaller on a blind date. They were married on March 17, 1956 at the Rectory of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Wausau. She had been employed at Benson Optical and retired from the JC Penney Catalogue Department. Mary Ann and John were blessed with two daughters, Peggy and Patty. They enjoyed traveling, camping, and going on road trips around the US and in her later years, Door County. Her Swedish meatballs will continue as our Christmas tradition.
On Tuesday, October 12, 2010 Mary Ann passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
