Max Foland

Max Foland, 88, of Wausau, died Wednesday October 28, 2009 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.





Max was born January 4, 1921 in Grand River, IA. to the late Orval and Fern (Weldon) Foland. He married Pearl Zenk on February 14, 1946 in Los Angeles, Calif. Max served in the United States Army, 9th Army, 84th Div. under Gen. Dwight Eisenhower, during WWII, to include the Battle of the Bulge. Max worked as a baker and did 13 years of ministry for the Four Square Gospel Church. He enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, hunting and fishing.





Survivors include His wife Pearl of Wausau, two sons; Larry Foland of Wausau and Mark (Debra) Foland of Oshkosh, two daughters; Marilyn (Gary Booth) Frazier of Marshfield, and Carolyn (Ray) Land of Muscatine, IA., 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.


Max was preceded in death by his twin brother Rex.





Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday October 30, 2009 at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Officiating will be the Reverend Dr. Robin Wilde. Burial will be in the Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, King, Wi. Visitation will be Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
