Mercedess "Marcy" H. Myszkowski, 78, of Wausau, passed away on Wednesday morning, December 25, 2013, at Aspirus Hospice House. She was born on January 28, 1935, to Lawrence and LaVera (Brandt) Hanke in the town of Rib Falls.
Marcy enjoyed many hobbies including: crocheting, sewing, dancing to Polkas, and especially knitting. If she was sitting, her knitting needles were in her hands. Many a fortunate person has been blessed with her beautifully knitted socks, afghans, and washcloths to name a few. She spent time outside working in her vegetable garden or bird watching, looking for her favorite bird, the Cardinal. She also loved to try new recipes, whether it be cooking (known for her potato salad), baking, or canning especially pickles. Marcy also spent time in years past at her cottages on the Rainbow Flowage and later on Horseshoe Lake.
She worked for Marathon Rubber, Marathon Battery, Connor Forest Industries, and retired from GPI Corp. Even after retiring Marcy continued working as a Senior Aid at the Social Security Administration and part-time at Eastbay.
Marcy will be sincerely missed by her children, Larry Wendorf of Wausau, Gayle Stewart (Pat Conley) of Tucson, AZ, Kay Zuelsdorff of Portland, OR, Steven Wendorf of Wausau, Nicola Weyneth of Merrill, and Rhonda Weyneth of Wausau; grandchildren, Brook Wendorf, Kelly Barttelt, Naomi (Sasha) Wisnewski, Natasha Sterzinger, Andrew Dell, Mikaela Zuelsdorff, Jimmi Weyneth, and Elijah and Jorryn Weyneth; sisters, Eunice (LeRoy) Stark of Wausau and Iris (John) Diel of Weston; brother, Virgil Hanke of Wausau; and sister-in-law, Dawn Hanke of Wausau; and many more.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jerome Myszkowski, James Weyneth, and Alvin Wendorf; brother, Gerald Hanke; and sister-in-law, Arlene Hanke.
A memorial service will be at 12 noon on Monday, December 30, 2013, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, with Rev. Raymond Connor of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A lunch will follow services at First English Lutheran Church, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas.
