Merle Berens

Merle Berens, age 84, of Wausau, was born to eternal life Saturday, January 23, 2016. She was born December 23, 1931, in Wausau, daughter of the late Alfred and Helen Seefeldt. She married Cyril "Fuzzy" Berens on March 14, 1953 in Milwaukee, WI. Merle graduated from Wausau Senior High School and was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. She enjoyed family time and relaxing at the cottage on Somo Lake. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, bird watching, and traveling.

Merle is survived by her husband, Cyril "Fuzzy"; seven daughters and one son, Deborah (Pat) Seymour, Diane (Jim) Boyce, Carol Nowling (Jason Frazier), Nancy (Joe) Bjortvedt, Faye (Mark) Blaubach, Gary Berens (Teresa Sprague), Cathy Pagel (Damon Sullivan), Joanne (Joseph) Frye; along with twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, one sister, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church, Wausau, on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 with visitation starting at 9:00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am.

Merle lived a long, fulfilling life surrounded by family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her family. She will be greatly missed by Dad and all her children. Heaven has gained another angel.
