Mildred Richter

Mildred Louise Richter, 94, Wausau, died Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.

Mildred was born April 7, 1917 in Birnamwood to the late Albert and Elsie(Lettau) Gueller. She graduated from Birnamwood High School in 1935. Mildred married Russell R. Richter on January 5, 1946 in Wausau and they celebrated 60 years together of marriage prior to Russell's death on December 23, 2006.

Mildred was a faithful long time member of First English Lutheran Church and member of the Grace Circle. She was also a member of the VFW Post 388/Auxiliary for a number of 35 years. In her free time, Mildred enjoyed sewing, and making crafts, nurturing indoor plants and flowers, and working
outside in her garden. She frequently spoke of her faith in God and found personal encouragement through Christian radio programs and devotional reading materials.

Mildred is survived by her son, Reverend Randell (Vickie) Richter (Green Bay); grandchildren, Nathanael Richter, Bethany (Jason) Barber and Rachel
Richter; great-granddaughter, Braelyn Barber; and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother, Carl Gueller; sister, Martelle Jonen; and granddaughter, Rebekah Richter.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, March 9, 2011 at First English Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Erik Olson will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and last until the time of services. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Becky and the entire staff of Our House Senior Living for their wonderful care and kindness shown Mildred since January 2010.
