Mildred Schubring

Mildred A. Schubring, 96, of Wausau, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. She was born to August and Martha (Loeffel) Poeske on January 4, 1916 in Wausau. She was a graduate of Wausau High School class of 1933 and Wausau Normal School. Mildred worked as an office clerk at the former Pied Piper Shoe Corp. She married Clarence Schubring in Wausau on September 23, 1939.
Mildred was active in her church, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, in the town of Wausau. She was a teacher and superintendent for many years for Sunday School, and a member and officer in the Ladies Aid and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She enjoyed spending her time playing Upwords. Clarence and Mildred traveled to Texas for 25 years during the winters.
Mildred is survived by her son, Glenn (Lou Ann) Schubring; daughters, Barbara Rajek and Karen Wagner; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lamoine Poeske; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; siblings, Laura, Selma, Ruthie, and Arnold; parents; and sons-in-law, Rudolph Rajek and Gerald Wagner.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4103 N. 69th St., town of Wausau, with Rev. Scott Holoubek officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, and again at the church on Friday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Mechanic's Ridge Cemetery, town of Wausau.
