Mildred M. Traska, 93, Wausau, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at her home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Mildred M. Block was born March 26, 1917 in Wausau to the late Gustave and Lydia (Ueckert) Block. She married Louis A. Traska on September 6, 1941 at St. Johna�(TM)s Lutheran Church in the Town of Easton. The couple was blessed with the additions of their children, Lois and James. Mildred worked with her husband, Louis, as the receptionist and bookkeeper for Traska Appliance. During their life together, the couple traveled a great deal visiting nearly all of the lower 48 states. After 48 wonderful years together with Mildred, Louis went home to be with his Lord on January 11, 1990.
Mildred was a woman who lived under God and always trusted God to do the right thing. She was very active at Zion Lutheran Church throughout her life; as a member of the Ladies Aid, the Young at Heart group and with Strassenfest and the cookie sales. Mildreda�(TM)s faith and devotion have been an inspiration to family and friends. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Mildred is survived by her children, Lois (Kenneth) Haderlein, Wausau and James (Mary-Jane) Traska, Marlborough, CT; grandchildren, Sarah Johnson and David (Erica) Haderlein; great-grandchildren, Seville, Mykal, Alyvia and Ashlynn; brother, Myron Block, Weston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Helen Traska, Adeline and Norman Prahl, Arline and Arvo Salo, Caroline and Stuart Kuehl, David and Marion Traska and Delos and Arlene Beck all of Wausau. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mildred is preceded in death by her great-grandson, Robert, and many sisters and brothers-in-laws.
Funeral services will be 11:30 AM on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Steven Gjerde will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, November 21 at Helke Funeral Home, resuming on Monday at 10:30 AM until the time of the funeral.
