Myrna Pospychalla, 92, of Rib Mountain, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016, at Aspirus Hospice House.
She was born in Birnamwood on October 25, 1923, to George and Blanche (O'neil) Blood. While she was young, Myrna decided to move to the city. She chose Wausau and was hired at Marathon Battery, which was quite busy due to the war. She later met her future husband, Kenneth, at a dance at the Colonial Ballroom and they were married on June 21, 1947 at St. James Catholic Church.
Myrna was a member and proud volunteer of The Friends of the Marathon County Public Library and also served as a board member. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and knitting. Myrna loved and enjoyed her grandchildren very much. Family was an important part of her life.
Survivors include her children, Lyn (David) Zillman of Wausau, Christine (James) Scharch of Madison, Jerome (Kim) Pospychalla of Los Molinos, CA, and Connie Dulas of Wausau; seven grandchildren, Karrin (Andrew) Zillman-Moser, Kendra Pospychalla, Angela Dulas, Jacob and Joshua Pospychalla, Jamie Goulet, and Jason Dulas; and three great-grandchildren, Avery Zillman, Frank Moser, and Addyson Moser.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; son, James Pospychalla; and brother, Raymond Blood.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, with Rev. Joy Nelson-Jeffers officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, town of Texas.
A special thank you to the staff of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice services and to Nurse Practitioner, Lori Schutte, for the excellent care Myrna received.
