Myron's faith was the foundation upon which he lived his life and raised his family. His strong devotion to his faith in God is the legacy that he leaves in the hearts and minds of his children and entire family.
He was born July 17th 1927, the son of the late Gustave and Lydia (Uekert) Block, in the town of Easton. On October 2nd 1948, Myron was united in marriage to Grace E. Lemke, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. They shared 55 years together, raising their five children, enjoying life and each other.
Myron's passion for serving his Lord was shown through his involvement in Lutheran Laymen's League, Lutheran Hour Ministries, Orphan Grain Train, Walther League, Camp Luther, and various positions of leadership at St. John Lutheran Church and school. He and his wife loved traveling the U.S. together to attend church related conventions, activities, and meetings. Myron served as a volunteer fireman and on the Planning Commission for the town of Easton.
He and his children and grandchildren enjoyed cooking maple syrup in spring, hunting, and smoking venison sausage.
Myron began his career as a farmer, then sold life insurance for AAL (Thrivent), and enjoyed working for 24 years at the Department of Motor Vehicles as a Driver's License Examiner, until his retirement.
On April 6th 2012, Myron L. Block entered into eternal life, surrounded by family, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau. He was 84 years old.
