Neoma "Nony" Margaret Kirchoff 95, of Schofield, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Cedar Ridge Elder Services in Schofield under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice Services.
She was born January 27, 1919 in Door County to Vernon and Beatrice (Parrot) Resler, the first of six daughters. Nony was educated in Door County and in Poynette, Wisconsin and graduated from Poynette High School in 1937. She attended St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac, graduating in 1940.
On December 31, 1941 she married Frederick Kirchoff and they were blessed with two children. Nony's career in nursing spanned a variety of specialties from factory nurse and mental health care in Milwaukee, to completing her career as a nursing home administrator in Madison.
She and Fred moved to Tomahawk after retiring, where she rediscovered her love of painting and became a very talented and prolific artist. She has blessed her family members and many of her friends with gifts of her paintings and they will continue to remind us of her talent and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, sisters Sally Williams, Joyce Gehrke, Jean Brown, and Lorrie Glor, and sisters-and brothers-in-law.
She is survived by a daughter Sue (Bill) Unruh, and a son, Rick (Bonnie) Kirchoff, six grandchildren: David (Nancy) Unruh, Ellen (Scott) Brzezinski, Dan (Tracy) Unruh, Steve (Abbey) Unruh, Brenna (Brian) Kehres, and Candace (Joe) Tolentino; thirteen great-grandchildren: Michael and Tim Unruh; Elliott and Greta Brezinski; Gracie Schwerin, Finley and Holden Unruh; Nora, John and Nolan Unruh; Brady and Brandon Kehres; Gabe Tolentino , a sister Donella (Al) Heim and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2014 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 703 Flieth St. Wausau with Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services at the church. Burial will be at a later date at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Irma, WI
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank Aspirus Comfort Care Hospice Services and the staff at Cedar Ridge Elder Services for their loving care.
