Norma E. Krenz, 91, of Wausau, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Mountain Terrace under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born on February 8, 1925 in the town of Berlin to William and Martha (Altmann) Krenz. Norma grew up on the family farm and attended Stubbe Hill School. She was always willing to help family and friends with whatever they needed and was not afraid to tackle projects for herself or others. She remained very independent and always kept busy. Jobs she held included the toothpick factory, Marathon Bait Company, an Interior Designer, and working for the Senior Aide Program. Full retirement was decided at age 80. Norma also enjoyed travel, including several trips to Germany to visit family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Welfare Workers Society, and a charter member of the Pommersche Verien Club.
Survivors include 16 nieces and nephews; 29 great-nieces and nephews; and 21 great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha; brothers, Gilbert and Martin Krenz; sisters, Erna Prindle, Alma Burmeister, Hertha Strei, and Angela Seidler; nieces and nephew, Helen and Charles Strei and Leila Burmeister.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave., Wausau, with Rev. Zach Holdorf officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Big Hill Cemetery, town of Berlin.
