Norman "Norm" G. Lang, age 91 of Wellington Place, Wausau, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2007 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston.
He was born on November 2, 1915 in Medford, son of the late George and Amelia (Pietsch) Lang. On September 5, 1942 he married Mildred Sundheim in Minneapolis. Norm served his country in the U.S. Navy for three years during WWII where he was stationed in the South Pacific. He worked as the vice president of operations for over 30 years at Wisconsin Fuel and Light Company prior to retiring in 1980. Norm was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking after retiring. He was a former long-time member of the Kiwanis and was especially active with the tree farm project.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred "Millie" Lang of Wausau, two sons, John (Esther) Lang of Emory, VA, Rick (Carol) Lang of Philadelphia, one daughter, Virginia "Ginny" (David Barlament) Lang of Pepin, WI, one brother, Marvin "Marv" Lang of Medford, four grandchildren, Nathan (Stephanie) Lang of Richmond, VA, Sarah Lang of Philadelphia, Scott (Jessica) Lang of Gales Ferry, CT, and Erik Lang of Baltimore, MD, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Sean Motley and Rev. David Almlie will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wausau.
