Norman Prahl

Norman C. Prahl, 85, of the town of Wausau, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, under the care of Aspirus Hospice Services.

He was born on May 31, 1930, in Wausau, to the late Paul and Esther (Poeske) Prahl. Norman was united in marriage to Adeline Traska on September 8, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church, town of Wausau. He was very proud of the family farm that he worked on his entire life and that it continues to operate today. In addition to dairy farming, he also worked as a truck driver hauling milk and cattle for many years. He will be remembered as a dedicated family man and a hard worker. He had a love and respect for the land and woods, and he always appreciated seeing the wildlife as he worked the fields. Family gatherings, especially Christmas Eve, were highlights that Norman looked forward to every year. He served as a Town of Wausau Supervisor for 26 years.

Survivors include his wife, Adeline; sons, Jerome, Arlo (Sue), John, and Clifford (Kristine) Prahl; daughters, Linda (Jim) Glatczak and Karen (Jon) Roble; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Kunze and Darlene (Earl) Ramthun; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Esther; infant twin brothers, Clifford & Clyde, also his brother Harvey; and a son, Roger.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Church, E10723 County Road Z (Town of Easton), with the Rev. Mark Lewis officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 10, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, beginning at 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and again at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, town of Texas.
