Norman “Bud” Arnold Tesch, 90, lifelong resident of the Wausau area, died Monday, September 28, 2009, at the Hospice House, in Wausau.
Bud was born April 4, 1919, the son of the late Reinhold and Anna (Durkee) Tesch. He was united in marriage to Gladys Relitz on September 17, 1938. He served in the U.S. Army, during World War II, in the European Theater and the Battle of the Bulge. After 38 ½ years at Weyerhaeuser, he retired in 1981.
He was a former member of Peace Church, in Schofield, and the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10, in Wausau. Bud enjoyed golfing, nature, and crossword puzzles.
Bud is survived by his loving family, including 2 daughters, Bonnie (Erland) Sandstrom, Sister Bay, WI, and Karen (Michael) Kohn, Madison, WI; granddaughter, Carrie Sandstrom and her husband, Ronald Jooss, Madison, WI; great-grandson, Reese; sister-in-law and special friend, Ruth Disbrow, Wausau; sister-in-law, Jen Tesch, Schofield; step-granddaughter, Erin (Lance) Hudgens; and step-great-grandsons, Brian and Alex.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Gladys Tesch, in 1995; 3 brothers, Raymond, Myron, and Donald Tesch; and sister-in-law, Verna Tesch.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Restlawn Memorial Park Chapel, Wausau. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Restlawn.
