Norman Theis

April 17, 1917 — December 3, 2017

Norman V. Theis, 100, of Wausau, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Aspirus Hospice House.

He was born on April 17, 1917 to the late Harry and Theresa (Lilly) Theis in Marshfield, WI.  Norman grew up in the town of Stettin and attended the country school.  Upon finishing school he worked on the family farm.  He met the former Erna Lassow and they were married at St. Stephen Lutheran Church on May 21, 1948.  She preceded him in death on February 9, 2008.

Norman’s career as a machinist spanned over 50 years, working for Hammer Blow and then for United Machine.  He was an active member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church holding officer roles in the Men’s Brotherhood, as a church elder, and on the property committee.

Survivors include his daughter, Luann Theis and sister, Gladys LaHaye.

He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Donald (Bernice), Robert (Rose), and Harold (Alice); and brother-in-law, Robert LaHaye.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 512 McClellan Street, Wausau, with Rev. Jennifer Dahle officiating.  Family and friends may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.
