Paul Sekorski

Paul R. Sekorski, 84, of Wausau, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Kennedy Park Nursing and Rehab Center, Weston, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. He was born on August 10, 1928, to John and Hattie (Sczygelski) Sekorski in the town of Rietbrock. He spent his childhood there growing up on the family dairy farm.
Paul served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1955, after his service ended he returned home to take over the family farm, where he lived and worked until 1993. He married the former Margaret Seubert on September 26, 1956, in Marathon City.
He enjoyed ballroom dancing and spending time gambling with his friends. Paul was a member of the American Legion Post #393 in Edgar.
Paul is survived by his children, Charles (Denise) Sekorski of Athens, Richard (Kathy) Sekorski of St. Paul, MN, and Theresa (Gary) Habeck of Wausau; grandchildren, Holly (Greg) Ewan, Brittany Sekorski (Dan Punke), Samantha (Ryan) Hoover, Elizabeth Craig, and Sabrina Sekorski; great-grandchildren, Cesily Keel, Rocky Craig, and Stella Hoover; brother, John (Pearl) Sekorski; sister, Elizabeth Krause; and sisters-in-law, Marie Goldbach, Rita (Don) Menzner, Angela Kannenberg, and Judith Stroik.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; parents; grandson, Gregg Sekorski; brothers, Alex and Daniel "Jack" Sekorski; and sisters, Frances Orlikowski, Dorothy Sekorski, Josephine Adamski, Clara Nowitzke, and Sister Mary Herman Joseph (Anna).
A funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013, at St. Anne Parish, 700 West Bridge St., Wausau, with Rev. Jeffrey Hennes officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Poniatowski, with military funeral honors provided by American Legion Post #393 of Edgar.
