Pearl Rekowski, 85, of Rib Mountain passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born October 29, 1922 in Wausau to the late Edward and Erna (Sann) Markofski. On October 5, 1946 Pearl married Bernard Rekowski. Pearl was a past member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Burns Post #388. Her hobbies included playing Bridge, solving crossword puzzles, flower gardening, traveling and occasionally visiting the casino. Since 1968, Pearl's family enjoyed spending time at their trailer on Bluegill Lake.
Survivors include one son, James (May) Rekowski of Tripoli, one daughter, Judy (Walter) Ladwig of Wausau, 5 grandchildren, Lisa (Eugene) Smith of Wausau, Robert (Dawn) Rekowski of Tripoli, Angela (Peter) Jobst of Los Angeles, Becky (Doug) DuMonthier of Belgium, WI, Carmelo (Courtney) Oliva of Wausau and 6 great grandchildren, Tyler, Aidan, Reed, Anna, Megan, and Alannah. Pearl was preceded in death by Bernard in 1985.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 25, 2008 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Gerald Pehler will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 pm. until 7:00 p.m. at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
