Pearl Sekorski

November 5, 1928 — April 15, 2025

Pearl Jeanette Sekorski (Brandt) passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, April 15th, 2025 at Rennes Health and Rehab Center surrounded by her children. When thinking of a way to describe her, the only words that come to mind are angel on earth. She may have been quiet, but her heart always spoke the loudest. To have Pearl in your life, meant experiencing the greatest kind of love. She had a way of making you feel like the most important person in the room. Even though her presence will be greatly missed by family and friends; her life lessons, love for baking and cooking, and never ending kindness will live on through them.

Pearl was born November 5, 1928 to her loving parents, Bernard Brandt and Emma Huehnerfuss. She was one of ten children, but always played an important role with cooking, cleaning, and helping with farm chores. This is where she learned to be the strong, patient, loving woman she was to her own family.

At the age of 25, she met her soulmate, John Sekorski. They did not know it, but their love and bond could only be described as something out of a movie. Their relationship with each other and God made them unbreakable. Together, they had 5 children: Jim, Bruce, Laurie, Tim, and Cindy. John and Pearl were sure to fill each of their children with love, the best memories, and the courage and strength to know they could accomplish anything they put their minds to. They owned a picture perfect farm and were nothing short of hardworking. Even with this great responsibility, they always made time for fun. Whether that meant hosting card club, going on a vacation, or cheering on the Brewers. Their doors were always open, and they made it clear everyone had a permanent invite over. The kids can describe their childhood as constantly having company, and their house filled with the best smells of all the homemade meals & desserts Pearl would always make.

After many years, John & Pearl made the decision to sell their beautiful farm and move to Wausau where they would enjoy their 6 grandchildren and host all of the family holidays filled with love and laughter. As grandparents, there were no two people better for the job with countless sleepovers, babysitting, and teaching all of life’s most important lessons.

When John left this world to be with God, Pearl moved into Cedar Creek Senior Housing where she enjoyed countless nights in the community room playing bingo, pokeno, and enjoying the company of her numerous friends and neighbors. Pearl enjoyed many visits from her family and especially her great grandchildren. She loved sitting in her recliner in awe at the family she had created. Through her eyes and smile, one could always tell how proud she was of each and every part of her family.

At 96 years old, Pearl moved to Rennes Health and Rehab Center. Pearl’s family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the incredible staff at Rennes, with a special thank you to Mickey Bloch. Mickey will hold a special spot in “Grandma Pearl’s” heart.

Preceded in death by her father Bernard Brandt; her mother Emma Huehnerfuss; 8 brothers and 2 sisters; her husband John Sekorski; her daughter-in-laws Cindy Sekorski and Nancy Sekorski; her grandchild Zachary Sekorski. Pearl is survived by her children: Jim Sekorski, Bruce Sekorski, Tim Sekorski, Laurie Bloch (Mark), Cindy Larson (Rock). Her grandchildren: Katie, Kyle (Samantha), Matt, Korey, Tisha (Ben), and Kelsey (Daniel). And lastly, her great grandchildren: Addison, Mason, Gracin, Dawson, Charlette, Harper, Isabella, Lucas, & Liam.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am - 11:00am Tuesday, April 22nd at Trinity Lutheran Church (501 Stewart Ave, Wausau) followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Pearl will be greatly missed, but she will be carried on with love and memories in our hearts.
