Pearl Voigt

July 10, 1946 — April 30, 2017

Pearl D. Voigt, 70, Wausau, formerly of Merrill, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Aspirus Hospital, Wausau.

She was born July 10, 1946 to the late William and Dorothy (Oelke) Hoff . Pearl grew up in the town of Naugart, attended school there, and graduated from Wausau High School. On October 1, 1966 she married Dennis Voigt at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Marathon close to Little Chicago.

Pearl had various jobs during life: babysitting; selling Avon; working at Cheese and More store, Kings Foods, Rondele; and as a cashier in the cafeteria for Wausau Benefits/Fiserv Health at the 1st Avenue location. She earned many seller awards from Avon and especially enjoyed talking with people when working at the Cheese N More Store and at Wausau Benefits/Fiserv Health.

Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed playing sheepshead with the neighbor card club, occasionally going to the casino, reading books especially Little House on the Prairie, going to lunch with her friend Joy, playing Yahtzee & Farkle, and spending time with her grandson.

Survivors include: two daughters, Joan (Mark) Hanson, Wausau, Tracy Voigt, Lake Mills; one son, Jason Voigt, Wausau; one grandson, Eric Voigt, Wausau; Sisters Elaine (Harold) Schade, Wausau; Lois (Robert) Giese, Tomahawk; Naomi (Jules) Neuenfeldt, The Villages, FL; Karen (Sheldon) Voigt, Merrill; brothers, Melvin (Kay) Hoff, Minocqua; James (Judy) Hoff, Westminster, CA; Sheldon (Bonnie) Hoff; Robert Hoff; Peter (Jean) Hoff, all from Wausau. Mother-in-law Elaine (Engel) Draves, Plainfield; sisters-in-law Janice Arvidson, Friendship, Carol Luedtke, Plainfield, and Patricia Tushoski, Marathon; brother-in-law Roger Tushoski, Everette, WA; uncle-in-law Gerald (Geraldine) Voigt, Athens; Very Special Cousin Shirley (Daniel) Manning, Schofield. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis on September 4, 2013; parents , William and Dorothy Hoff; Brother, Donald Hoff; sister in-law, LouAnn Hoff; father-in law Elmer Voigt.

The visitation will be Friday, May 5, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and service to follow at St Peter Lutheran Church on 329 County Road A, Marathon, WI, just west of Little Chicago. Pastor Philip Bogen will officiate. Private burial at Friedenshain Cemetery at a later date.
