Phyllis M. Eschenbach, 84, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Renaissance Assisted Living, Weston under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Phyllis was born January 16, 1929 in Merrill to the late Raymond and Avila (Fehlhaber) Utech. She married Frank Eschenbach Jr. on November 3, 1951 in Merrill. The couple celebrated 31 wonderful years together before Frank's death on October 9, 1983.
Phyllis was very active in the community as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, a Lioness in Town of Maine and an active member of Grace Circle. Her free time often found her playing cards (sheephead and blackjack were favorites), dominoes and working on word search puzzles.
Phyllis is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kimberly Eschenbach; grandchildren, Tracy Helling and Chad (Kimberly) Eschenbach; great-grandchildren, Kiley and Juliet Eschenbach; extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Pearle Utech.
Services will be 6:00 PM on Friday, August 16 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Reverend Richard Russow will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Town of Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services (Aspirus CCHS Fund, Aspirus Health Foundation, 425 Pine Ridge Blvd., Wausau, WI 54401).
