Ralph Erdman

Ralph M. Erdman, 87, of Wausau, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016, at his home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Ralph was born at home, April 29, 1929, in the Town Stettin to the late Walter and Ella (Tasche) Erdman. He received his education at Trinity Lutheran School on Stewart and then attended trade school in Wausau where he studied carpentry.

Ralph was united in marriage to Joan Whippler in Wabasha, MN. He worked as a carpenter for Hoffman Construction, Wergin Construction, Boldt Construction and retired from Miron Construction.

Ralph enjoyed woodworking and enjoyed helping his family with their projects. He also enjoyed farming, hunting and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Ralph is survived by his wife Joan, four children, Diane (Larry) Heine of Vail, AZ, Bruce Erdman of Wausau, Lawrence (Lori) Erdman of Merrill, WI and Patti Zernicke of Marathon, WI, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister Elaine (Gerhart) Holtz of Wausau.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce Street, Wausau. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
