Ralph (Shorty) Weidman Jr, age 92, of Rib Mountain, passed away peacefully on Friday March 7, 2025. Shorty was born September 23, 1932 in the Town of Reedsburg to Ralph Sr and Eve (Hoeue) Weidman. He was married to the love of his life, Ruthie, for 38 years prior to her passing in 1994. Ralph is a Retired Veteran serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy. Following retirement he worked many years as a welder for Wausau Iron Works and Central Fabricators. He is also a charter member of St Andrew Lutheran Church in Rib Mountain.
Shorty was known as being a skilled welder, he was able to fix anything broken or in need of repair and could just about make anything. Ralph built Ruthie her dream home on Lake Wausau. Hobbies included hunting, riding his Honda Goldwing, upholstery work on furniture / vehicle interiors, and driving his pride and joy 1957 Studebaker Silver Hawk. Shorty was always happy to have a cold one with family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters - Elaine (Dave) Perrine of St Germain, Mary (Paul) Krueger of Tripoli, three sons, Danny (Vicky) Beeler of Yuma AZ, Thomas (Karen) Weidman, Wausau, and Ralph (Kris McKee) Weidman. 9 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Granchildren.
A special Thank You to Ralph (son) for being dad's primary caregiver. You gave dad a quiet and peacefull environment and showed dad the love, dignity and respect he deserved.
Private Services and Entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
