Raymond Juedes

April 22, 1913 — February 1, 2010

Raymond Albert Juedes, 96, town of Parish and formerly of Weston, died February 1, 2010, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, in Merrill, following a stroke.


Raymond was born April 22, 1913, the son of the late Herman and Anna (Radtke) Juedes. He married Isabelle Borchardt on June 19, 1937, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. He retired from the wood yard at Weyerhaeuser at the age of 62. Ray and Isabelle were involved in the Strawberry Festival at the Homme Home, in Wittenberg, for many years. They also traveled a lot by motor home and enjoyed square dancing.


Survivors include 1 son, John (Jan) Juedes , Skanee, MI; 1 daughter, Lana (Florian) Bradfish, Rothschild; 7 grandchildren, Troy Juedes, Rhinelander, Craig (Jodi) Juedes, Rhinelander, Jeffery Juedes, Tomahawk, Alan (Christina) Bradfish, Weston, Arlin (Karen) Bradfish, Rib Mountain, Darrell (Mary) Bradfish, Weston, and Carla (Richard) Corazalla, Weston. Ray is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Herman “Bud” (Lorraine) Juedes, Wausau, Ralph (Gerry) Juedes, Tomahak, and Roger (Marg) Juedes, Brokaw; 2 sisters, Elnore Zastrow, Weston, Mildred (Jack) Jablonski, Wausau; 2 sisters-in-law, Gertrude Juedes, Aniwa and Margaret Juedes, Rothschild; and many nieces and nephews.


Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Isabelle, in 2003; 4 brothers, Elmer, Edwin, Floyd, and infant brother, Walter; 3 sisters, Marion Chilla, Arline Klemmer, and Esther Jones; nephews, Dennis Jones, Daniel Mroczenski, Kenneth Juedes, Richard Juedes, and Glenn Oslage; and niece, Charmayne Tardiff.


Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2009, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Reverend John Meachen will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. at the church.
