Raymond Pasholk Sr
April 10, 1925 — February 24, 2017
Raymond Edward Pasholk Sr., 91, Wausau, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Weston under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services with his loving son, Ray Jr. by his side.
Raymond was born April 10, 1925 in the Town of Weston to the late Basil and Julia (Porval) Pasholk. He married Anita Scheffler on June 30, 1951 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau. Raymond worked for the Public Works Department for 34 years as an Equipment Operator before retiring. During this time, he also served with the Wausau Emergency Police Unit for 36 years. After 63 loving years together, Anita passed away on June 25, 2014.
Raymond was a very hard working man who provided for his family and enjoyed every moment spent with them. Early on, he helped with the cub scouts and throughout his life Raymond enjoyed fishing with his son. Raymond had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in his garden growing gladiolas and entering them into the WI Valley Fair. Summers were often spent on trips to Wisconsin Dells, the Milwaukee Zoo, Pleasure Island in Eagle River and going to the WI Valley Fair and State Fair. He was also an avid fan of all Wisconsin sports; the family attended many Milwaukee Bucks and Brewers games and they went to the Packer Meet and Greet for many years. In his later years, Raymond spent many hours listening and enjoying music with his son.
Raymond is survived by his beloved son, Raymond Pasholk Jr.; brother, Isadore Pasholk; great-grandchildren, Tabitha and Emery Ziebell; daughter, Barbara Ann Pasholk; grandson, Christopher Ziebell; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Brian Ziebell; and siblings, Peter, Joseph, Tommy, Paul, Bridget, Marion, Agnes, Celia and Dorothy.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 4 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Pastor Jennifer Dahle will officiate. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Dad, I was so blessed and grateful to spend every day with you, and not one day that went by did I not kiss you and say I love you. I will miss those days.
