Richard E. (Twinkle Toes) Chamberlain
Richard (Dick) Chamberlain, 1020 W. Campus Drive died peacefully at his home surrounded by his children Saturday, January 14, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born March 9, 1930, to the late Ralph and Genevive Chamberlain. On August 26, 1950, Richard was united in marriage to Lola Beilke at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau.
Richard was a loving husband and proud father of five children. In his early years he drove truck for Tidee Didee Diaper service, Wausau Laundry, Steffke Freight and then was elected to the position of Secretary Treasurer for the Teamsters Local 446/662. He also served on the board for Joint Counsel 39 and Central States Pension Fund. He spent his life fighting for what was right and just for all. He told many stories of driving truck and working with Jimmy Hoffa to bring change for the American workers. He was very proud of what he accomplished with them and continued to serve as President of the area Retirees Club until his death.
He loved to play cards, gamble, camp and fish. After retiring in 1988 he enjoyed traveling throughout the states with his wife Lola in their motorhome. One of the things he enjoyed most was eating out. He especially enjoyed his time spent at the Hiawatha Lounge and the Loading Zone, rarely missing a Sunday Brunch at Hiawatha.
Survivors include his five children, Richard (Jean Kennedy-Chamberlain) Chamberlain, Anchorage, AK, Laurel Schalavin, Anchorage, AK, Ronald Chamberlain, Wausau, Robert Chamberlain, Schofield, Catherine (Patrick) Albrecht, Schofield, two brothers Ralph (Ilene) Chamberlain, Calvin (Eunice) Chamberlain, three grandchildren, Joshua Chamberlain, Scott Albrecht and Brooke Schalavin, and three great grand children.
