Robert "Bob" J. Garcia, 51, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, in Chicago, IL. He was born in Milwaukee on March 21, 1961 to JoAnne (Zais) Garcia of Wausau, and the late Jacob Garcia.
Most people will remember Bob as a fun, loving, do anything to help someone when he could, kind of guy. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was fishing the Holcombe Flowage, camping, or snowmobiling. Bob's favorite thing to do was ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle wherever and whenever he could. He didn't care where he was going, just as long as the wind was in his hair. He also loved spending time with his dogs, Slick, Rocky, Buck, and Gomez. Bob will always be remembered as a hard worker. His greatest passion was being behind the wheel of "Buttercup", his semi. He spent most of his career as an over the road truck driver, owning and operating his own truck, and business. Bob also served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Kathy; daughter Katie (boyfriend, Travis Kent) Garcia; mother JoAnne Garcia; sister Laurie (partner, Greg Brose) Londerville; nephew, Benjamin (girlfriend, Dana) Ruprecht; step-children, Jessica (Keith) Neitzke, Kurtis Mumper, and Brittney (Rocky) Verkuilen.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Montgomery Plant Post #10, at 7:00 p.m. You may sign our family guestbook at www. Helke.com.
The family would like to give a special Thank You to the Chicago Police Detectives that helped them, and offered so much of their time when it was needed most.
