Robert Krause

Robert W. Krause, 85, died on Friday May 24, 2013 at the Aspirus Hospice House.

Robert Walter Krause, "Bob", was born in Ringle on February 24, 1928 son of Alvin and Sadie Krause. Bob is survived by his sisters, Betty Baneck, Marian (Rudy) Kmiecik, Mabel Witz, Carol (Richard) Gorski, sisters-in-law, Vivian Woller, Betty Weyeneth, MaryAnn (George) Zinser, Florence Heeren, Margie Heeren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bill, and by Margaret, his wife.

Growing up on farm during tough times served Bob well, teaching him the value of hard work and perseverance. These qualities helped Bob throughout the years when he hauled milk, was employed at Curtis windows, or did maintenance work at St. Paul's Church and at Wisconsin Public Service. Though hard of hearing, Bob was as good of a listener as you could find, being very sensitive to others' needs. Bob acted upon those needs in numerous ways, being there for friends and family whenever needed and volunteering through church and other community requests. If the measure of a man is the good he has done, then Bob Krause was one big man.

Bob married the love of his life, Margaret "Mugs" Heeren, on June 24, 1950. Together, they explored the world as they loved baseball (the Milwaukee Braves, especially), fishing, camping, snowmobiling, biking, and traveling. After twenty-two years of being apart, they are back together again.

The family would like to thank all of the people who have helped Bob feel as comfortable as possible during his last days: the angels at Aspirus Hospice house, Dr. Mark Richetto, and the numerous friends and family who visited Bob in person or in prayer.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 426 Washington St., Wausau. Reverend Philip Schneider will officiate. Entombment will be in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park.
