Robert E. Schultz, 89, of Wausau, died Tuesday September 8, 2009 at home under Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services with his family by his side.
Robert was born in the year 1919, in Athens, to the late Ludwig and Mathilda (Schneider) Schultz. He married Carolyn Bartelt on September 11, 1943 in town of Hamburg. Robert was a farmer, he also worked for Marathon Co. Hwy Dept., and was a carpenter for Wausau Homes. After retirement Robert enjoyed his Winter months in Arizona. Robert and his wife Carolyn enjoyed traveling all over the United States and Europe. He enjoyed polka dancing, fishing, woodworking, entertaining at home, smoking fish and making the best potato pancakes.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn of Wausau, two daughters; Kathryn (Lyle) Weise of Wausau, and Nancy (Michael) Fochs of Kronenwetter, one son Robert (Mary) Schultz of Wausau, 6 grandchildren; Cindy (Dave) Jamroziak, Mike (Carol) Weise, Rob (Sarah) Weise, Carrie (Jeff) Broman, Tiffany (Jeremy) Buchberger and Trevor Schultz, and 8 great grandchildren; Steven and Alex Jamroziak, Taylor, Paul, Max and Mason Weise, and Keegan and Finley Broman.
Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by three sisters; Martha Lehman, Ida Laabs and Tillie Goetsch, and one brother August Schultz.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday September 11, 2009 at St Mark Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Reverend Bruce Lamont will officiate. Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday September 10, 2009 at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, and Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
