Robert Theis

Robert was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Stettin to Harry and Theresa (Lilla) Theis. He enlisted in the Army during World War II and proudly served his country overseas. Upon his honorable discharge, he was recognized for his participation in the Battle of the Bulge. On August 15th 1946, he was united in marriage to Rose Stochek. He worked for 25 Years at Hammerblow Tool Co. After 13 Years at United Machine, he retired in Dec., 1987, as a foreman.

In his earlier years, Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing. For a number of years, Bob volunteered at North Central Healthcare Center. Bob always looked forward to and enjoyed visits with his grandchildren. He was a dedicated and persistent man, who lived his faith and always chose to lead by example. A devoted member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Wausau, he served as church president and assisted with communion for many years.

Robert "Bob" E. Theis, 89, of Wausau passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital Center in Wausau.

Survivors include a son, David Theis, Wausau; a daughter, Linda (Paul) Siegmann, Green Bay; granddaughter, Elisa Siegmann and grandson, Arick Siegmann, both of Green Bay; brother, Norman Theis, Wausau; sister, Gladys LaHaye, South Milwaukee; and many other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Rose; brothers, Harold and Don Theis; sisters-in-law, Alice and Erna Theis, and Dorothy Seehafer; brother-in-law, Elmer Seehafer.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday, September 24, 2012, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 709 Weston Ave., Wausau, with Rev. Paulette Creswell officiating. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Monday until time of service, at the church. Full military honors, provided by the V.F.W. Burns Post #388, Wausau, will follow the service. Burial will be in Stettin Christian Cemetery, town of Stettin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Wausau.
