Robert Wasmundt

Robert "Bob" Delbert Wasmundt, 76, of Gleason, formerly of Wausau, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Bob was born March 25, 1939, in Wausau, son of William and Helen (Bartelt) Wasmundt. He received his education in the Wausau schools and then entered the United States Army, where he served his country.
Following his discharge, he returned to Wausau and worked for Juno Supply before beginning his employment with Wausau Paper Company in Brokaw where he retired.
On January 18, 1980, Bob was united in marriage to Connie Hussong at the Marathon County Courthouse. They made their home in Wausau and for the past ten years have made their home in the Gleason area.
Bob is survived by his wife Connie, his mother, Helen Wasmundt, Wausau, a son Michael (Colleen) Wasmundt, two step sons, Wade (Becky) Weiland and Brad Weiland all of Rib Mountain, one grandson, Jacob Wasmundt, four step grandchildren, Nathan Shnowske, Lauren Shnowske, Sdyney Weiland and Madison Weiland, three sisters, Marion (Russell) Rahn, Irving, TX, Judy (Larry) Hettinga, Weston, WI and Roselie (Gene) Weidow of Tomahawk, WI.
He was preceded in death by his father, one son Douglas, one brother Thomas and a sister Louise Nest.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St, Wausau. Rev. Wayne Drueck of Grace United Church of Christ will officiate. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
