Robert Weise

Bob Weise, 78, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 25th at his home with family gathered around him.
Bob had an energetic personality and an unforgettable smile. He loved meeting new people and could talk to anyone about almost anything. He had a passion for collecting model trains especially Lionel Rock Island O Gauge. Bob loved to show his working train collection to anyone who asked. He was known to "tinker" in the garage and enjoyed fixing and selling used lawn mowers and cars.
Bob was born on May 10, 1933 in Audubon, Iowa, the son of the late Obed and Louise (Block) Weise. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War. On May 16, 1959, Bob married Mary Lou Johnson at First Presbyterian Church, Wausau. They made their home in Wausau raising their two sons, Mark and Rob. Before retiring, he worked in maintenance 18 years at John Muir and Wausau West. He also helped out at Helke Funeral Home whenever needed. Bob was a faithful and active member of Bible Truth Chapel volunteering at Kids Bible Club and One Way Club Highland Community Church where he was known as "Grandpa Bob".
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou of Wausau, two sons, Mark (Diane) of Ringle, Robert (Nancy) of Wausau, four grandchildren, Melinda (Philip) Mleziva, Jonathon (Brittany) Weise, Timothy and Jennifer Weise, two great grandchildren, Kaison and Lilith Mleziva and two sisters, Marion Aston of Carson, Ca and Dorothy (Harry) Elliott of Clairmont, Ca. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Harley Heuss.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Bible Truth Chapel, 1600 N. 1st Ave, Wausau. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
