Roger Kahre

Roger "Smoothy" Lee Kahre, 71, of Wausau, passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Sunday, December 12, 2010. He was born to the late Arnold and Evelyn (Lemke) Kahre on September 6, 1939 in the Town of Texas. He worked for Marathon Electric for 47 years. Roger served his country in the Army and was stationed in Germany after basic training.
He enjoyed going up north, playing pool and horseshoes, and loved his Green Bay Packers.
Roger is survived by his children, Brenda (Tom) Williams of Tomahawk, Forrest Kahre of Tomahawk, and Carla Kahre, of Wausau; a sister, Patricia Rusch of Kronenwetter; and three grandchildren, Michael Wadinski, Dillon Williams, and Brooke Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Maxine Rusch.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Joel T. Brandt officiating. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home until the time of service. Burial in Restlawn Memorial Park. You may sign the family guestbook at helke.com.
