Ronald Pagel

Ronald Norman Pagel, 68, Wausau, died Friday, May 4, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Ronald was born November 5, 1949 in Wausau to the late Norman H. and Elvira B. (Krueger) Pagel and grew up on the family farm.  He is a 1967 graduate of Wausau High School.  Ronald honorably served his country in the US Army.  For many years he worked as a laborer for a variety of businesses in the Wausau area before becoming disabled in the 1980’s.

Ronald was a very private man who had a great love for baseball and fast-pitch softball.  Starting in his teens, he played fast pitch softball in church leagues for many years.  His favorite pastime was listening to the Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers games on the radio.  Ronald was a life-long member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Ronald is survived by his loving siblings, Faye (Dennis) Barry, Judith Clifton, Joan Pagel, Gerald (Connie) Pagel, Kenneth (Joan) Pagel, Charles Pagel, Diane (Daniel) Hintz, Betty (Dean) Glatting and Sharon (Gordon) Oxley; 18 nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

The funeral service for Ronald will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church, Village of Maine.  Pastor Joel Willitz will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Friday at the church.  Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.  Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements; you may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
