"Saturday May 9, 2015 an American hero passed. His name is Roy Lashua, he was a P.O.W from the Korean war. Who will notice except his children, grandkids, one remaining brother and myriads of nieces and nephews? Roy was a simple man who worked every day, put food on his table, honored his wife and supported his 5 children. He never talked of the war or his captivity, the only thing he asked was to never have to eat rice again. He will be honored this week as he never wanted to be in life, so as you go on this honor flight today think of Papa Roy as he was so proudly known of by the whole family."
~ Barbara Dallman
Roy is survived by his children, Linda Lashua, Paul (Rhonda) Lashua, Christopher (Connie Schultz) Lashua, Theresa (Randy) Buchberger and Michael Lashua; grandchildren, Holly (Josh Woller) Buchberger, Adrian "A.J." (Rachel Schrock) Lashua, Desireé (Kurt Stoeger) Lashua and Brandon Lashua; great-grandson, Connor Anderson; brother, Elmer (Beverly) Lashua; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by 12 of his siblings.
