Ruth (Ruthie) A. Hintz, loving mother and grandmother, Wausau, passed away peacefully July 4 at Marywood Center. She was born December 28, 1929 in the Town of Corning, daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Constance) Mohrland. She married Harold Hintz on April 29, 1950 who passed away November 26, 2003.
Many special thanks to her caregivers at Marywood and to her granddaughter, Rhonda, for their kind and compassionate care.
Ruth along with her late husband owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Stettin. The farm has been in the Hintz family for four generations. She also enjoyed raising chickens, ducks and geese; and joked about selling cackleberries. She also worked at Schmidt's Ballroom Bar & Grill. While Ruth's greatest love was for family and friends, she looked forward to babysitting her grandchildren and enjoyed the trips to get away at the family cottage on Squaw Lake. Ruth was a generous, loving and caring person and always ready to help. She leaves behind children and grandchildren that loved and adored her, and her presence endures through her children and grandchildren. Today, we have said goodbye, tomorrow we will meet again.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Kaminski (Joseph), Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and Sandra Oestreich (Paul), Wausau; two sons, Thomas Hintz and Wayne Hintz (Janet), Wausau; one sister, Emma Plautz, Merrill; sisters-in-law, Joan Mohrland, Janesville and Beatrice Mohrland, Merrill; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
