Ruth Kruzan

Ruth A. Kruzan, 92, of Wausau, passed away at Wausau Manor on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, under the care of Asera Care Hospice. She was born to the late Otto and Ida (Sparby) Kmen in Mosinee on March 7, 1920. Ruth loved her family. Her family thought of her not just as a mother or grandmother, but also someone to look up to as a role model and a friend. She was most proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth enjoyed cooking and baking. She spent some of her down time playing cards or reading a good book. She liked being outside and working in the garden. Ruth was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan McKee; grandchildren, Michael McKee, Patrick (Stacy) McKee, and Jennifer (Clint) Kroening; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Brennan, Connor, Kaden, Kyle, Carson, Kendall, and Violet; sister, Joyce Weiss; nephews, Jim (Kaye) Weiss, Tom (Laurel) Weiss, and Sam (Barb) Morgan; step-children, Lee (Mary) Kruzan, Jeanette (Fred) Padjen, and Judith Knoll; and step-grandsons, Gary, Greg, Brian, Scott, Brett, Stuart, and Mike.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Kruzan; first husband, Douglas Bowman; sister, Gladys Morgan; and two brothers-in-law, Edward Weiss and Roy Morgan.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, with Rev. John Roseth of St. Andrew Lutheran Church officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Crandon, Wis.
