Scott J. Wimmer, 50, of Wausau, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 8, 2011 at his home. He was born on September 4, 1960 in Aurora, IL to Jerome Wimmer and the late, Nancy (Schalow) Wimmer.
Scott grew up in the Wausau area and graduated from Wausau West High School in 1978. He was employed at Polywood Fabrication. Scott was a talented artist and carpenter. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his father, Jerome Wimmer, Wausau; aunts, Barbara Wegner, Lac du Flambeau and Beverly Finn, California; and many other relative and friends.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at Gilbert Park fishing pier, 3000 North 6th Street in Wausau on Monday, July 18, 2011, at 7:00 PM. You may sign our family guest book at www.helke.com.
