Selma Roeder, 95, of Wausau, died Sunday May 25, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Selma was born September 8, 1912 in the town of Marathon to the late Henry and Malvina (Stahel) Hoeppner. She married Edward Roeder on October 24, 1931 in the town of Stettin. Edward preceded her in death on May 2, 1995. Selma was a member of the churches Ladies Aid, Women of the Church and past choir member. Selma enjoyed gardening and had a phenomenal green thumb. She loved flowers and birds. Selma would have a flock of hummingbirds follow her as she brought out the feeder for them.
Survivors include one daughter Geraldine Goetsch of Merrill, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, one sister Eleanor (Walter) Schultz of Milwaukee, and one daughter-in-law Darlene Roeder of Athens.
Selma was preceded in death by one son LeRoy, one brother Harold Hoeppner and two sisters; Vendaline Schultz and Delores Smith.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m.Tuesday May 27, 2008 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, town of Stettin. Officiating will be the Reverend Clarence Gall. Burial will be in Rib View Cemetery, town of Stettin. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
