Sharon Kolbe

Sharon Ione Kolbe, 87, of Marathon, passed from this earthly life to her eternal life with the Lord Jesus Christ, February 24, 2012, at Sylvan Crossings on Evergreen. Sharon was born April 23, 1924 to the late Henry and Clara (Urban) Feck. She married the late Walter Kolbe on March 9, 1946, at the First Reformed Church in Wausau. Sharon and Walter shared their life together at their farm in Marathon and their summer cottage in Phelps, WI. Her desire for each person reading this is that they would come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Sharon enjoyed many activities such as traveling with her husband to Canada, Alaska, and exploring the Pacific Rim. She loved participating in her Bible classes and preparing for them. Also she enjoyed her flower garden, vegetable garden, genealogy, and many different kinds of crafts. She enjoyed having people into their home for special dinners and activities in their woods on the farm. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Barry (Linda) Kolbe of Mazomanie; one daughter, Wendy (David) Whittingham of Phelps; grandchildren, Audra (Craig) Hubbell of Madison, Jessica (Chad) Bigler of Verona, Sarah (David) Robenhorst of Austin, TX, Alyssa Wagner of Austin TX; three great-granddaughters, Brielle Bigler, Peyton Robenhorst, and Averie Wagner; and a sister, Beverly (Feck) Jacobs of Illinois.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Walter Kolbe in 1998; grandson, Philip Kolbe in 1998; and her brother, Henry Feck.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Thursday March 8, 2012, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau. Pastor Lee Christian of Christ the Rock Church will officiate. Burial will be in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Rib Mountain. Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 pm on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the funeral home and will continue at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 8, at the funeral home until the time of service.
