Sheila Weisenbeck

Sheila Marie Weisenbeck was a woman of strong faith; her gentle nature was recognized by all. During her life she took great comfort and found strength in the Lord. Sheila was an active member and volunteer at Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed attending TLC Bible study classes. Sheila was always willing to put the needs of others first with kindness and compassion.
Sheila was born June 13, 1950 in Sparta to the late Leland and Blanche (Wesley) Fanning. On July 13, 1969, she married Alan Weisenbeck at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Sheila provided 26 years of service at Graphic Packaging in Wausau. Whether it was motorcycle riding with her husband or feeding the wildlife, she loved being outdoors. She had a passion and took great pride in tending to her many different tranquil settings at her home. Sheila, a cancer survivor was looking forward to retirement in January 2011 to spend time with her grandchildren, family, and friends.
At the age of 60, Sheila was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 11, 2010.
Survivors include her husband, Alan, two sons, Travis and Todd (Tracy) Weisenbeck, all of Wausau, two grandchildren, Ellie and Tanner, her brother, Michael Fanning, four sisters, Sharon (Jim) Edwards, Shelby Fanning, Stepheny Fanning, and Sue (Rick) Zillmer all of Sparta, five nephews and eleven nieces. Sheila was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and L. Byron Fanning, a sister, Sandy Rassmusen, and mother and father-in-law, John and Olga Weisenbeck.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Reverend Gary Schultz will officiate. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Helke Funeral Home and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
