Shirley Thiel

Shirley C. Thiel, 80, of Wausau, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at home. She was born in Milwaukee on June 20, 1930 to the late Aloise and Rose (Herzog) Runte. In 1956 she married Thomas A. Thiel and later moved to Boulder Junction. In 1984 she moved to Wausau and worked at Kolbe and Kolbe until her retirement. Shirley enjoyed knitting baby caps for the hospital.
She is survived by three children, Debra (Kim) Kunze of Wausau, Jeffrey (Fran) Thiel of Boulder Junction, and Pamela (Bob) Harris of Wausau; a brother, Kenneth (Kathleen) Runte of Milwaukee; a sister, Lucille Schultz of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
